homemade doll pattern
so i have finished my first official "toy pattern"... i've been trying to get some things ready to sell and have felt limited by not being able to sell toys that are not made with my own original patterns. my friends here in bloomington commissioned a "pirate" doll for a Christmas present and it gave me the perfect opportunity to try my hand at a toy pattern. so these first pictures are of the dummy-doll, plain as can be (but i still think it's cute that way)and then by simply adding the right elements for the character, i can turn my dummy...into a pirate!!! arrr, matey!nate says his favorite parts are the thumbs and nose! this is only the first official one i've made but there will be more to come before too long. stay tuned for more knitting projects especially since the holidays are rolling in!

Wow! That's the cutest little pirate I've ever seen! Especially since you completely design him, WOW! That's all I can say to that! I want to be you someday when my knitting grows up! :) Love ya!
I LOVE IT!!! I have had to hide the Pirate from Grant, cause he holds it, makes it dance and sing, "A Pirate says RRRRR!"
Every time I look at the pirate, I'm convinced that it looks like Nate- before his haircut and shave :) Again- I LOVE IT! I may need you to make another one for my son now!!
I love it!!! I have to agree, the first thing I thought too when I saw it was finally!! A knitted doll pattern with cute thumbs... I didn't notice the cute nose til you pointed it out but I love that too! So can I put in an order for some day at least for M? Doesn't have to be any time soon... I love it though! Oooh, maybe you need a pattern tester?? :D Oh, and I really do think it would be cool if you wrote a knitting patterns book, and I agree with megs, sketches in the book would be so cool. beautiful doll, love you jes!
oh, and I agree with Rochelle on that it looks like Nate, so cool! :)
I'm Rochelle's sister, and this doll is going to my little boy. I am SO excited for him to see this!
Thank you so much for your talents! :)
